The Social Housing division is responsible for the funding and administration of social housing programs in the County of Bruce and management of the Bruce County Housing Corporation buildings. Responsibility for social housing was transferred from the Province of Ontario to the County of Bruce on January 1, 2002. Social Housing is a division of the Human Services and Housing Department.

The Home Repair program is designed to improve the living conditions and provide financial assistance to homes needing safety, energy-efficiency and/or accessibility upgrades.
We are now accepting new applications for our Home ownership program!
The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) launched the Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP) in January 2016. This program provides an on-bill reduction for eligible customers.
Beginning in January 2016, Bruce County became both the lead and intake agency for the Westario Power Low-Income Energy Assistance Program Emergency Financial Assistance (LEAP EFA). The Westario Power LEAP EFA is a grant program designed to help low-income customers who find themselves in need of assistance with arrears owed to Westario Power.
Bruce County Housing Corporation owns and manages over 600 social housing units across Bruce County

The Community Homelessness Prevention Initiative (CHPI) aims to prevent, address and reduce homelessness by improving access to adequate, suitable and affordable housing that is linked to flexible support services based on peoples’ needs.
Bruce County periodically receives Provincial and Federal funding to invest in affordable housing.
